I picked up a as new "Mint" DeerStalker this weekend. I have always been interested in one of these, and this one fell into my lap. I know very little about them, except this one was made in 1961. It is a 3 digit serial number, and they only made this particular model for 2 years. Any and all info you can tell me would be great. I will have pictures posted later today.

I always thought that would be a great around-the-house varmint gun.

I have a Ruger 96/44 that I purchased off of this site several years ago. It looks just like the Deerstalker (but with a lever).
….which as Snattlerake stated, "looks like a growed up 10-22".
Deerstalker looks to be a great gun. I wouldn't mind having one myself.

I was talking more in terms of the 44 mag in a rifle for the varmint angle. Your Deerstalker might be a little nice for skunk killing..
