Well, the Corporate notice ends with "Long live the lever gun!"

Perhaps that's a hint ?

Personally, I would love to see another Ruger branded lever gun, in different cartridges.

There are these 2 bits however....

"....the Company will begin the process of relocating the Marlin Firearms assets to existing Ruger manufacturing facilities."

"...at this point in time,....is that the Marlin brand and its great products will live on."

Yeah, I'm only cautiously optimistic that Ruger will not molest the Marlin line.

TBH, I don't care if Marlin is eventually jettisoned, which I think will happen.

I think Ruger will grab the machinery and plans, the corporate history and technical knowledge, and assimilate it into Ruger.

Or perhaps Marlin will become the "value" brand of Ruger, getting the cheap wood, and seconds in the rest too.
After all, there's some value in the brand name itself.

Who knows.
