Even though I'm a big S&W fan, the SP101 is the only small revolver ever trully designed to handle the .357. The only S&W that comes close, and is larger is the K-frame 19/66/65 with 2.5 to 3 inch barrel.

the factory grips aren't bad, but Hogue makes afinger-grooved set of grips that are $22(or so) from Ruger's website which makes a HUGE difference in comfort, recoil, etc. I absolutely LOVE these guns. I have one in a .357 mag 3" that is my favorite all-around revolver of all time.

I too am a big fan of Smith and Wesson...but this gun is really making me think about that convention...I'll review my new Smith 686+ next

i'm a smith fan as well...but after giving this little beast a little boom time...I think I am becoming a Ruger Fan as well..can I be a Smith and a Ruger fan at the same time?....
