I took this on a trade last week and need to sell it. I'm not sure if it's SS or nickel plated. It is a 586 no dash. It is just the gun no box. For sale only. $750 I might be able to meet part way ,I'm in Ponca City. I would like to see an ID.

I believe they are like the model 19s, the majority are blued but they did nickel a few guns, from my research they discontinued the nickeled guns in 1991

A Nice dark pair of polished rams horn would look real nice on that thing

Yes Sir. 586’s we’re either blue or nickel. 686 were stainless, and the same for 581’s and 681’s. The 581 and 681 series were fixed rear sight models. Very good and desirable wheel guns. However, I don’t ever recall a nickel 581, unless it was a re-finish.

I have a nickel 581. I thought they were OHP issue in the 80’s? At least I’m pretty sure it’s a 581? I’ll look when I get back to the office.
