S&W SD 40 VE Opinions wanted

Have a buddy that was in a money crunch and he had a S&W SD40 VE, gave him 2 bills for it. I have no experience with this pistol, but the trigger is long and about 8 lbs. Any opinions on this pistol?

It's a good deal. For $200, I don't think it can be beat. I've bought a couple Taurii in that pricerange and have no complaints about them. The S&W is a better-built gun, IMNSHO.

Never owned one and wouldn't. Worked on one for a buddy of mine, kept having cases stuck-wouldn't eject. Polished chamber etc still no good. Called S&W and they had me send it in and they put new barrel on and new extractor. Great customer service!! Shot the pistol several times and hated the trigger pull and not that accurate. Still for $200 you did not get hurt.
