So does mean the manufacturer knew of this problem since September of 2016 and is just now taking corrective measures?
There were problems, and even with this gauge there is still an issue but it's a cheap fix. The trigger and hammer pins can walk side to side and seem to be fine but actually allow things that are not supposed to happen, happen. IMHO the pins are more likely an issue than the hammer fire issue due to the bolt face being incorrectly machined as ALL the pins are not full length or captured.

Got my 'measuring tool' today. No issues with mine.
My gauge came today. No issues with my bolt.

Just checked one and it passed. For anyone who wants to know the shim they are using to test is .279 wide and .035 thick so the pocket needs to be at least that deep to pass.
Waiting on my gauge to come in, as for the receiver pins, I purchased Colt 901 pins which fit the width of the receiver perfectly. Brownells sells them.
