just picked up a little flux welder for my oldest to learn with and looking for some scrap steel. Doesn’t have to be pretty etc just usable for him to learn. Closer to Piedmont the better. Thanks!

Appreciate you. @swampratt gave me some welfare goodies and a whole lot of knowledge. Even followed me out to my house to help with my ‘85. All my boys talked about the rest of the evening was how cool his car was and can’t wait for him to come back and show them how he fixed it.

Yep. My 6YO bugged mama all evening to paint her suv the same way

I figured they would be talking about your cool square body truck and how it started with a key.

I think you need to find a short starter bolt that fits that starter as i think the nut as a spacer is causing some flex and allowing that starter to move sideways.

There is also a front bracket on some GM starters and I do not know if that starter uses one.

Research that as the front bracket adds more support.

It sounded good a couple times cranking but then got bad again leading me to believe it is shifting.
