I supppose even the FBI makes mistakes and people slip through the cracks.....

I just had a guy get delayed and then they called and denied him the next day, asked for his address on the 4473 and verified that I had not completed the sale.

So yes, they do check, but that is no guarantee that they catch every single person.

So does no one check on these things? I mean, he's done it 6 times. I thought they call these in and verify the accuracy of the information provided on the form.

Can anyone with an FFL clarify? What is the point of calling in info? Unless he bought used, which is very possible. That was unclear in the OP. He didn't say he bought new guns. Buying used there is no background check required.
