Sorry, I missed this one. I always done fairly well walking around the dam area of Lake El Reno with a cast net. When I had a boat, we could find them with a locator and do better.

Why would they kill the main diet of sportfish? Doesn't make sense. Mother nature will take care of the overpopulation by regulating the Phyloplankton and zooplankton in their food chain.

Doesn't sound legit to me...However I am always skeptical of stories that are of the "my buddy said" origin.

Took g-son out to Hefner last week to get him some time with using a spinning reel. About 30 cast and caught 7 threadfins. One cast caught 2. Last year the lake had tons of shad all year. Looks like going to be fat fish this year.
