Hi
I inherited a pistol which is currently in OKC, I am in CA, is there an FFL that will ship it directly to me? of course for a reasonable fee

My understanding is that since it is inherited it can come direct however, ups and FedEx don't really understand that, and will only ship to an FFL
Any advise? Or a willing shipper?

18 USC §922 - Unlawful acts said:
(a) It shall be unlawful-...

...(5) for any person (other than a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector) to transfer, sell, trade, give, transport, or deliver any firearm to any person (other than a licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, licensed dealer, or licensed collector) who the transferor knows or has reasonable cause to believe does not reside in (or if the person is a corporation or other business entity, does not maintain a place of business in) the State in which the transferor resides; except that this paragraph shall not apply to (A) the transfer, transportation, or delivery of a firearm made to carry out a bequest of a firearm to, or an acquisition by intestate succession of a firearm by, a person who is permitted to acquire or possess a firearm under the laws of the State of his residence, and (B) the loan or rental of a firearm to any person for temporary use for lawful sporting purposes;

Bold part is the important exemption in your case.

USPS will not ship it under any circumstance. You'll have to find a UPS or FedEx employee that can read and has common sense, has done it before, or have the executor speak to a supervisor but the executor is allowed to ship a pistol direct, as long as it is legal for you to possess in CA.

Don't forget to fill out the form below to comply with the registration restriction in CA.

I'm not trying to steal a thread, but that isn't true.
Post office will handle pistol shipments if the requirements are met.

*without FFL involvement, which in this case is unnecessary based on the facts given.

Anyone aware of a ups or FedEx employee or location or usps that understands the exemption
We've waited a while already to just pick up directly, neither of us can make the trip
