It's best you have a trained instructor watch over you. You don't want to develope bad habbits. However, if that is not an option its best to dry fire. Concentrate on pressing the trigger straight to the rear while maintaing focus on the front sight. The sights and trigger are one. Aim the gun with the trigger press - if that makes sense

+1 on the training.

I am also right handed and had the same problem when I started out. I was jerking the trigger anticipating recoil. It probably didn't help that my first handgun was a polymer frame .40SW. Two things that really helped me. 1) Have someone else load your mags and load a snap cap randomly. If you are jerking you will really notice it. 2) Dry fire with a laser, concentrate on squeezing the trigger while holding the little red dot on target.
