State Question 780 changed certain non-violent drug- and theft-related crimes from felonies to misdemeanors, which come with a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a fine of $1,000, thereby reducing the number and duration of state prison sentences for those crimes.

Correct. We as a state are following Cali’s lead on a lot of things. SQ 780 has turned shoplifting into a criminal enterprise with organized groups looting the metro.

We used to be 5+/- years behind the west coast but now the rate seems to be increasing. We too as a state will reap what we sow at one point or another.
