Shouldn’t be hard to do yourself, honestly.

But, if you wanted to send it somewhere, I would pick these guys in a heartbeat. I wish they still did the 10mm conversion.

Would it be possible to shorten a Marlin 39a to 16 inches and thread? I think the mag tube would be tricky. Thanks
Possible yes, morally, Effingham NO!

What Chief said. But, it's your gun to do with as you please.
If it was mine I'd keep it as is and find a Rossi or a Henry to molest instead.

My first rifle on my 5 th birthday was a 39 A. My dad loved me enough he got me the best. Rabbits didn’t have a chance. Still have it and a 39A Mountie ( strait stock ) short version he gave me as a brother to the first one
( Molesting) is the word that comes to mind to me also !!!
Get a Rossi to do that too, may even get your money back when you sell it.
