Okay, so leaving out all the urban myths like rack a 12ga and they will run 🤣🤣, what’s your go to setup for home/ homestead defense?

Are you a 870 / 500 pump guy? Or similar

Or a 1100/11-87 / 930 kinda guy?

Weighing the pros and cons they both have appeal to each type but what’s your preference? And barrel length?

Myself I’m split, I have one pump 870 SBS it’s purpose built for SD/ HD with a 14” barrel and plus 1 extension

But I have a Sportsman 48 cut to 18.75” and a 1100 at 21”. They are still in the testing/ modding phase as the 1100 needs a little fixing up and the 48 needs tested for reliability.

My focus was on reliability. For the long haul and maybe when repair parts might not be available I leaned towards a pump action but when I discovered the 12ga Benelli M3 which converts from semi-automatic to pump with the flip of a switch… that’s my home defense/apocalypse weapon.

I have a KS-12 with a similar treatment, but I'm not sold on drum mags. I use CSSpecs steel Saiga mags, most reliable you can get.

I know what you mean, but I got lucky with a Pro-Mag drum mag. Several hundred rounds through it of bird shot, buck shot, and slugs, and not a single issue so far. It’s nice not having a high-cap mag that sticks way down below the shotgun.
