Shotshell crimp finish mistake

I bought a small drill press from Amazon for the sole purpose of using a GAEP crimp finishing die and using a roll crimp die. I haven't tried to roll crimp yet but it doesn't have enough power to use the crimp finish die. Bogs down and stops. My Dewalt 20v has WAY more power. I just wanted to prevent anybody else from making the same mistake I did.
It was only mildly cheaper than harbor freight bench top drill press but I was hoping to save some room as space is pretty limited on the reloading desk. So if anybody is considering one of those Amazon drill presses for shotshells remember that thing couldn't pull a sick smurf off the toilet .

I wanted to load some 12 ga slugs a few months ago and roll crimp, and I bought a Daddy Ammo roll crimper that works great.
In my limited experience, all hulls don’t work well for roll crimping, but these old Activ hulls are great.

Activ hulls are the best for reloading.

They made some awesome factory loads, also.

Yeah I made the mistake of buying a cheap Walmart drill press years ago for some woodwork projects. Was an absolute POS and so weak it basically useless lol

I have a benchtop 1/3 hp 5 speed drill press that was from harbor freight over 20 years ago.
Works excellent for all I need done plenty of torque.
It will jerk things out of your hands so you must watch it.

I have roll crimped many shells with it and drilled many holes in thick steel plate.
I had a big Delta floor drill press with huge chuck and never used it.
Gave it to a friend a couple months ago as he did not have any drill press.

What HP are these ones that are weak?

Mine didn’t have a HP rating that I remember. It was Walmart “hyper tough” brand and was like $75. It was ok for smaller bits, but 1 3/8” forestner bit for cabinet door recessed hinges bogged it down bad. Even in soft wood. Something hard like oak? Forget it
