Had been looking for a pocket holster and decided that I would try and make one myself. Watched several video's on Youtube about making a holster or pocket holster. Most of them seemed pretty easy to do except, I didn't have the means to sew the leather. Thought about using some kind of rivet and figured they might not hold up over time. My search lead me to Chicago Screws. I figured these would hold the leather and not wear out over time. Found some at Tandy at $5 for 10 sets.
My next thing to tackle was the leather. There are other materials you could use, but I decided to go with leather. You can get a bag of leather scraps at Hobby Lobby or Tandy, but you'll pay at least $10-$15 for it. (Side note... Hobby Lobby has a leather holster kit for $15, compared to Tandy's $30). I decided to check out the thrift stores for purses, yes that's what I said. I was looking for purses and cowboy boots. Figured I could find something cheep in those categories. I did! Found a purse for $3 that was all leather and had tooling on it! See pics below on what I did. I figured I can get 3 holsters out of the purse, so that makes my total purchase price for my pocket holster $2.50!
