Awesome! Thanks for posting the story!
Won't be much longer, and we won't have men with the skills and knowledge for this kind of restoration.
Smithsonian A&S is on my bucket list.

My Dad was a Airedale in the Navy during WWII. Worked exclusively on the different flying boats. i remember some had no landing gear. You had to wade out into the water and strap on a temporary gear to roll it up on the shore. Navy/Air Force aircraft engine mechanic 1943 to 1971. He passed in 2009.
