Six people shot following argument in Oklahoma City church

Two groups of people started arguing inside the Word of God church. They left and the argument continued as they walked down NW 96, police said. A man then pulled a gun and started shooting.

Six people were shot on a northwest Oklahoma City street Wednesday night, police said.

The victims' names and ages weren't released.

The shooting happened on NW 96, just east of Western Avenue, about 8:45 p.m., Oklahoma City police Lt. Daimon Alexander said.

Two groups of people started arguing inside the Word of God church. They left and the argument continued as they walked down NW 96, he said.

A man then pulled a gun and started shooting, Alexander said.

Some of the victims were found at the scene and others arrived minutes later at hospitals, he said. None of their conditions were known, but most of the wounds didn't appear to be life-threatening Wednesday night, Alexander said.

The shooter was described as a black man, possibly in his early 20s, Alexander said.

Just goes to prove, once again, for the humpteenth time, that all religions should be banned, especially those Word of God (holy roller) types. And don't even get me started on how streets should be banned. If we all bicycled on sidewalks to get from place to place, this kind of stuff would never happen.

I was about 50 yards from this when it happened last night. I was sitting at the light at Britton and Western, thank god it was red or I would have been in the line of fire. All of the sudden, sounded like a machine gun going off, Id say at least 10 rounds, rapid fire, light turned green and I sat there and just pulled over to the side. I couldn't believe this, and at 9 pm it was quiet right in that area so it was very loud. Then fire trucks, police and ambulances started pouring in.

I'm thinking had a church member been CCW'ing, it may have been stopped. Chances are high that the shooter was not carrying legal.

I agree it sucks! However, if you ban all religions then it would go against the whole reason all the original imigrants came here. So they could practice whatever religion they saw fit. If you ban them all, then it would basically turn us to a dictatorship. You can't judge all religions by the acts of few. How many times do you hear about "Church was held at ... and nothing happened"? All the media reports is the bad stuff which makes it look worse than it is. Not to mention, the arguement they were supposedly having (god is black/white) is freaking stupid. Who gives a crap, other than people that are racists. I don't understan your reasoning on how streets should be banned. Doesn't make sense to me. Can you explain?
