Interesting info about the sights falling off the M&P's. I have a M&P 9 Pro, and after shooting ~200 rounds through it during an Advanced Combat Pistol class, the fiber optic front sight insert fell out. Happened during the middle of a drill too, so I had to finish the exercise sighting through the holes where the insert would have been 
Luckily, one of the instructors had some spare inserts, so some clipping, heating up with a lighter, smushing of the ends, and I was back in business. Other than that issue, it's been an excellent firearm for the reasons described above, plus having a great factory trigger.
