no you can ship it to a dealer in another state for transfer to the buyer, no need for ffl on the sellers end

I thought that might be the case, but wasn't sure...thanks. You have to ship it from an FFL in CA.

Not at all. You generally have to ship from an FFL to and FFL in most cases though. Transfer fees vary from FFL to FFL. There are restrictions on shipping certain ammunition, weapons, and accessories to certain states(i.e. listed AR lowers or off roster handguns without a single shot exemption to CA, etc.)

Yes but that is why I said private party...I figured a private citizen could ship to an FFL in another state...but they can't ship to another private citizen right? If so, then I thought it was ballsy to list this thing for sale without stating some jargon to appease the "man". For example, if I list a firearm for sale locally, I might say "buyer will have to sign some kind of receipt", etc. It is a cover your ass thing
