It`s been awhile since I`ve grown one, I don`t have the patients for it much these days...
I shaved my mustache off for a job interview in 1984. Grew it back immediately and had at least a mustache ever since. The beard comes and goes.
I had a beard and mustache for about 8 years (got tired of finding facial hair in my food). I shaved it off one night before I went to bed.
My daughter was just old enough to have been walking for a while, and had never seen me without a beard. We didn't know it at the time, but her eyesight was pretty bad and she couldn't really see much detail in faces.
She wandered into the bedroom the next morning, stood on her tippy-toes and looked over the side of the bed at me. I looked back at her, and her eyes just slowly got bigger and bigger like, "Who are you, and why are you in my mommy's bed?!"
I said something to her and she recognized my voice, and her eyes just slowly went back to normal size, and she turned and walked out without saying a word. It was pretty funny, especially when we found out later that her eyesight was bad. She just saw a face that wasn't half dark and didn't know who it was until she heard my voice. Poor girl!

I've had a foo man choo of some kind since 1995. Full beard rarely. Mustache only, never. Handle bar stache with foo man choo several times. Actually got one of those in place currently lol.
I've had a beard since I was in my early 20s.Finally was able to grow a mustache around 25. I haven't shaved either off since. I will die with both. I'd have a ZZ Top level beard if I could, but mine refuses to get any longer than it is. Really kicks me in the nads when I think about the online name I chose over 30 years ago.
If there were to be a contest, I wouldn't be participating in it as I've never grown a beard and only once had a mustache for a few weeks.

I've had a mustache since I graduated high school ... never shaved it off. I've had a beard off and on since graduation. My work required clean shaven face for full face respirator for a time, so I shaved the beard. I grew the beard back since I left that posiiton and have had it ever since (about 1995 IIRC).
I can't make it past the four day itch stage myself, although I had more of a 5 o'clock shadow at 17 than my drill instructor did. I caught no end of grief for that.Some of my friends refer to me as the beardless friend.
My cousin had a cute neighbor who told me I looked better with a clean shaved face.
I was about 19 at the time and just can''t grow face hair well.
I have about 4 days on my face now and it is driving my crazy.
