I haven’t shaved since 2020, but I’ve kept my beard short until the last couple or three months. I’ve just hit a point in life that my give a chit is busted.
September 19, 2015 was the last time I was clean shaven. I shaved for my oldest daughter’s wedding and all three of my girls told me to grow it back ASAP.

I shaved my mustache off for a job interview in 1984. Grew it back immediately and had at least a mustache ever since. The beard comes and goes.
Same with me, grew the stach years ago, can't remember the year but I think around 88, when I was able to grow a real one lol, only shaved it if I was trimming the sides and messed up. Lol, then immediately grew it back. I used to keep it short but later I went with the full on Sam Elliot look.

Got a wild hair (no pun intended) to grow a mustache back in 69' when I was a 19 year old kid in VN and have had it ever since.

I've tried growing a beard a few times but it doesn't come in full and even but in varying length patches and I end up looking like I've got the mange.
My beard was that way until I was about 35, then it finally came in full but still not real thick so it looked bad u till about 3 month of length and it grows half as fast as the hair on top of my head.
People ask my how I grew suck a thick long mustache, I tell em, I fertilize it often. LOL

I think the last time I was completely clean shaven was about 1995 or 96, but I’ve trimmed my face pretty short with the clippers when I cut my hair.

On a side note, I’ve been cutting my own hair since around 1990, because I’m cheap and after watching a barber a few times figured I could do it myself and save $10. For 30 years, I obsessively cut my hair every week whether it needed it or not, but after 2020, I occasionally skip a week or two and have discovered the world doesn’t end if my hair doesn’t get cut.

It's not $10 anymore. I paid $25 last time but I don't care, I'm particular as heck about my haircuts. If I just wanted the whole thing buzzed, I could do it but I don't want that look. Mom did that to me as a kid and I didn't care then but later in life (14 years old or so), I wanted hair lol

I use to cut my own hair once a year in the spring and not touch again til the next spring but about 10 years ago i just said the heck with it and it hasnt been cut since. As far as the itchy beard thing get you some hair conditioner and wash the beard with it daily and it will cut out alot of the itchy feeling til you get use to it

That's called an Apache beard; a patch here and a patch there.
