I’m having a hard time believing this. I don’t think six pounds of black powder could do this much damage, much less 6 pounds of smokeless.

since black powder is an explosive it could have been the detonator to secondary explosives.

I don't see any mention of black powder in the story - only smokeless. And, yeah, I gots my doubts. As they say, there is more to this story.
