This helped me to decide to do that on a 597 I picked up on a trade. My son will have fun with it. Thanks for the pic and idea!

The toughest part (mentally) was hammering out the sights from a really nice '85 10/22 my son inherited from his grandpa. But he wanted to be very careful with everything so we can return the rifle to stock in the future. That's my boy.

The rifle I have is the ugly green synthetic stock so it will greatly improve the look of it.

OrangeRcode When ever you get ready to sell the green stock keep me in mind. The Archangel stock is bad a$$. Way better than the Tapco. but it is as much as I paid for the gun.

Dave, that one I sold you I had purchased for this exact project. Then figured out I'd have too much $ in it when it was done and decided to just use my son's 10/22 instead. Hope that other one is still hammering along!

I have hammered the crap out of it!!! The screws on top stripped out, so I jbwelded them back in when I put a rail on top. Butler Creek side folder with stainless folder. A red dot and cheap flash hider. 4 BX25 mags. I must say I LOVE IT !! My kids or anyone that comes over gets to shoot it. its nice to have a beater that you dont mind others playing with.
