I'm afraid you're correct... at least, the larger metropolitan areas (Dallas, Austin, Houston, etc) are becoming increasingly liberal. But my friend insists that in small-town and rural areas, Texas is still VERY much a red state. Hope that is enough...
The big city’s have the majority of the state’s population. Once they go from purple to blue it’s over. Just like California. The majority of that state is red. Probably 90% it’s the major city’s that run or ruin everything. Once Texas’s major city’s go its over.
