Started the 2A clock ticking again

Been thinking about this for some time now, but now Feindstiner has pushed me over the edge. So I mailed my application to CMP today for an H&R service grade. I figure no matter what she's able to ram through Congress with Onumbnut's help, I'll be ahead of the curve in about 30 days or so, give or take.

I maintain that CMP Garands are one of the best deals going, as far as guns go or anything else. And with the crazy prices all the box feeders are commanding, The old M1 may also once again have a role to play as a very capable second amendment purpose rifle for guys on a budget.

I am happy because for Christmas, I got a reloading setup including a decapping die, for removing those crimped-in primers in all those thousands of once fired HXP .30-06 casings I have lying around. I was just about to run out of surplus HXP, so the timing couldn't be better!
