Would have liked to see them offer it to Venables before handing the keys straight to Riley, not sure he's ready yet...
Maybe he's headed to the league?
I hope he's just hanging it up and enjoying life.
Bob had nothing to do with the national title, he was just in the right place at the right time.I don't think there is any scandal. Im guessing Bob just decided it was time. I hope he continues with his community involvement and enjoys retirement. How many schools have two former National Title winning coaches remaining in their town and supporting the program? Lincoln Riley was going to get a head coaching opportunity soon and OU might have missed out on him. At least this way, we'll find out what this young guy can do. I love Venables but I think he is a great assistant and happy in that role.
Yeah you're right. Brilliant statement. We all know that Josh Huepel, Quentin Griffith, Torrance Marshall or the other half of the roster Bob brought in didn't make much of a difference. John Blake was just about to break out of that 12-22 record to win a national title when Bob came in and stole his thunder. They'd probably be sitting on 10 national titles if they had just hung on to the brilliance of John Blake a little longer.Bob had nothing to do with the national title, he was just in the right place at the right time.
The proof is, it never happened again during his tenure.
Well that said. I only had a 4 hour reaction to Viagra once, but I was and still am the man because of it!! lolBob had nothing to do with the national title, he was just in the right place at the right time. The proof is, it never happened again during his tenure.

I expected nothing less from you. How about all the OTHER national titles that he did not win? How many bowls did he choke in LMAOYeah you're right. Brilliant statement.
