The storms that came through Monday night really devastated our little lake community up in Grove on Grand Lake. We were hit with over 110 mph winds and took out most of our park. We were very blessed not to have received much damage. Maybe it is because we were low and right next to the water. Not sure why it missed us and hit all of our neighbors.
We had at least 7 home completely destroyed and a ton more severly damaged. Over 177 trees were uprooted onto cars and houses.
Our boat dock broke away and the end was lifted up and twist upside down with the boats in them. 4 days later and still no power. Water was just restored but a lot of our neighbors can't get in or out. My wife and I took food and cases of water to the park Tuesday, right after the storm. We had the fire department, tree company and the parks crew working day and night to help people.
It's been a hard summer up there. Flooding for over 50 days and now this storm damage. Mother Nature is mad at something.
Anyone that prays, our neighbors could sure use your prayers. A lot of them are on fixed incomes and have no insurance.
