Call me naive but I thought judges especially those on the supreme court were supposed to judge cases based on law and not ideology.

Color me stupid but based on the supreme knotheads' yesterday ruling re: a death penalty case - it appears law is irrelevant.

http://edition.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/10/27/arizona.execution/

The decision to vacate the order was supported by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas. Justices Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor sided with Silver and would not have vacated the ruling.

Ruling is right down straight party lines. If these guys ruled based on law one would think that party lines would be irrelevant.

Guess not...

Nice take on the story WW.

I didn't read it, just heard about this on the sports animal this morning.
So much for granting them news worthiness status....

That's what I hate about local election of judges. The only way I could figure out how to vote to keep the current ones or not (in Missouri) is to look at who appointed them. Sooner or later they judge based on party politics.

The nominating party is frequently, but not always an indicator. Occasionally, a conservative president will nominate a judge the libtards want in exchange for something else the administration wants. Kinda like a prisoner exchange between warring countries, only with our legal system as the commodity. :(
