Suggested Training Books

I will admit that I have zero patience for reading, though I would like to try my hand at a book on action pistols. I have heard of a lot of "required reading" for shooting USPSA/IDPA and was wondering if anyone would suggest a good book to start out with? I try and shoot but I know I am horrible at it. I don't really know how to hold the gun or properly pull the trigger. I am going to try and get into the Pistol 2 class at H&H sometime when my schedule will allow it. Hopefully someday I can go to a USPSA and beat more than 4 people.
