SuperDaves Gunshow Update!!

This was my first Superdave show.

First off let's get the admission issue out of the way.........yes I agree Superdave has lower admission prices than other shows although the show next weekend (R & K ?) is also advertised as being $8.00 if you clip the coupon of of the Daily Oklahoman.

I arrived around 9:30 and to me it sort of looked like a run of the mill smallish Metcalf or Claude Hall show......some empty tables and it had it's fair share of non gun and knife tables like jewelery vendors, coin dealers, first aid supplies, purses, little fuzzy animal key chains, backpack & web gear vendors etc.

Most of the available parking is on the south side of the bldg., close to the T & T bldg., but the south entrance to the show was locked and you had to use the north entrance only.......for a fella like me who has back and hip problems the extra walk to the north door was not appreciated.

There were TONS of black rifles and a bunch of 50 BMG's and a good ammount of other guns and knives......ammo and guns seemed high to me but a vendor has the right to price his wares as he wants and the customer can either buy or walk away.

All in all it was a pretty fair small show.

Thanks for coming out. Just a couple points of clarification. The purses are concealed carry purses, that can be a little confusing. I allow the jewelry because his jewelry is hand made and high quality and three quarters of his tables are handmade knives. A few vendors did sneak in a few items that don't fit in with my shows and they will not be welcome back.

Your hand stamp (or torn ticket stub, if you came early) is good for today.

Glad I didn't throw my stub away. I'm coming back to see if the RIA M5 shotgun I looked at yesterday is still there.

This puzzles me. You were planning on"walking" around the show right? I recently have found myself walking with a cane at 41 years old and I wanted to attend the show so I accepted the fact I may have to do some walking.
I thought the show was decent. Definitely worth the price, thanks Dave for honoring the website discount when we had difficulties (Pirates Republic). Some of the non-approved gun show items did annoy, but what annoyed me the most Dave was the vendors who didn't open their tables over an hour after the show started. They eventually did and I was able to browse them.

I thought the items there were priced like previously stated. Vendors start a little high because they expect to be talked down, just like most people in our own classifieds do. Find something you are interested in and start negotiations. If you don't get to a price you like, walk away and find it at another table and do it again. I had a guy try and sell me an ATI 1911 for $726...I walked away as fast as I could.

First superdave show I have attended. Very nice. Most of prices were not overinflated. Will defenitely go back (without wife). Will highly recommend show.

I bought a bagfull of ammo from the big ammo vendor. I DID NOT pay asking price. Ya gotta negotiate, lol.

Also bought a new "NAVY" hat and another firstaid kit. I thought most prices were fair, IF ya haggle.

Good show, ill go again.

Finally met a few of OSA members today. Got his and her knives today which are bad ass and I seem to can't stop playing with it.

Made it back to the show and got my new shotgun! Happy with the price of it and now to clean i up.

I drove over from Muskogee, and took my two grandsons and my L C Smith double. Enjoyed every minute, and cannot find a thing to complain about!

Did anyone see the SVT-40 that was spotted at this show? If so, did you see which arsenal mark was on it? Just curious; if it was a Kovrov in good shape, someone would have scored to buy it.
