Hunting deer with sabot slugs (not the "normal" shotgun slug) is about the only use for a rifled shotgun barrel.

This may sound weird to you guys, but to me it seems silly to use a light for home defense. if there is some one in your home, you should have quite an advantage over a stranger in the dark. in my case, the only light we leave on at night is in our kitchen, between where we sleep and where my child sleeps, it is about a 20' hallway, I can stand in the hallway outside my sons door and if someone is on the kitchen side of the house they will never see me in the dark, but I can see them plain as day. took a little expiremening to figure that out, but it works great.
