I'd also guess this statute is not being uniformly and fairly enforced. Especially the part about using the flag in advertising.

However the Chief is quoted in the article as saying ""State law prohibits the display of a worn-out and tattered flag by anyone,". THAT is not accurate and I don't see that in any state statute...I'm sure he was just taken out of context or incorrectly quoted and as usual we didn't get the whole story.
