The new UH 60 Blackhawk replacement - a difficult choice

2030 goal is an absolute joke. They won't have the first unit fielded by then. The Army hasn't done anything that fast since the 60s.
The UH-60M program started development in 2001, 20 years later in 2021 less than 300 have been fielded and that was on an existing platform.

When I went into the Army the Blackhawks were still being called Crashhawks by a lot of troops due to the accidents the early models had . In fact one of my Sergeants had been on a Blackhawk which lost its rotors and belly landed. I always felt safer on the Huey's and it made me a bit sad when they were pulled from front line service with most units. Many folks do not realize the UH1 series helo's remained in Army service till 2015 though ..

If by WE you mean the US Armed forced The USMC and the USAF both have Hueys.

I wasn't in the USMC , I was in the The US ARMY which has none as of 2015 and the US ARMY never adopted the the later mods adopted by the USMC .


Last I heard the Army still had UH1D and UH1H models before they retired them , last I heard the USAF has the UH1N.

First models got took down by pager signals, if I remember correctly. Didn't shield the avionics well enough.
