I haven't looked in a while, but there used to be some Youtube videos of a dude Elk Hunting with a 50 cal. air rifle. Some serious air power. Wouldn't have to worry about powder type ammo either.

Hunting with air guns is covered in the ODW regulations, there is nothing about registration. The article in the OP is full of crap.

Sounds bogus, but back in the 1970's you were basically "Registered" to hunt with a handgun in Colorado.
You had to pass a written and proficiency test and carry a handgun hunter card on you.
I think if I look hard, I've still got mine.

The only rule I know of is that if you want to hunt with an Airbow you have to buy a permit from the department of wildlife for $20

On airguns you can order one online and have it shipped to your house, no FFL so I think article is wrong. I'm just getting into PPC and they are a blast, no pun intended, and cheap to shoot if you like to shoot a lot.

There was a question a couple or three weeks ago about whether you needed an FFL to sell a firearm to a non-resident, I did some googling and found 5 articles that said you need an FFL for that, and one that said you don't. Most of what the one article said was contrary to what I've always thought, and to the other articles, so I guess you can find about anything.
