I don't see the problem. It would keep the dogs off.
I'm especially fond of the roof. That's a very avant-garde choice. Much more time efficient than "regular" roofing, though it does limit the size of the "porch" somewhat. I'm actually half tempted to find a camper shell on Craig's List and cover my chickens' run with it so they will have a sizable place to get in out of the rain,and not have to go back in the coop. And I don't have to test my non-existent carpentry skills.
