Did they used to manufacture those out of ivory? Or maybe they looked like ivory?
Yes

My Grandfather (who is loooong gone) had an ivory set that he had for decades. Don't know where he got them, he was a simple row crop farmer in Greer County. Don't know what happened to them, but I'd give a kings ransom to have them now.

After a couple of rounds, he could tell everyone what they had left in their hands.

And don't even think about playing him one on one, he smack you every time :brick:

Well, my google alert popped up last week about a set of ivory colored Marble-Like's on Ebay. Added those to the collection this morning. As popular as those were, you sure don't see em pop up for sale much, and it's darn near impossible to talk people out of em. Just need to find a set of ivory Jumbo's to complete the butterscotch collection.

Good domino players can take a 1 second look at the board and tell you every bone out there. I can study it for 10 minutes, and still just see a bunch of dots.

Man, I use to play a lot of domino back in the days, I have not play maybe in 6 years.
Did you slam them down on the folding table so it registered as a small earth quake and yell DOMINO MUTHA @#$ like Samuel L Jackson while playing? Worked at a place were some guys did that everyday. So that is the image I always see when someone says dominoes.

Oh, you mean the same guys who "splash the pot" when putting chips in during poker? Same basic level of maturity....
