Another P320 firing by itself incident. Injured police officer.

I won’t have anything to do with either the P320 or P365 . Sig makes fine handguns with a hammer they need to stick to what they know and leave Glock to the striker guns.

A co worker’s son had one go off in the holster or so I am told while he was hunting with the bullet hitting him in the leg.

The fact that the 365 uses a different setup than the 320 tells me that Sig probably knew it was an issue.

Talked to an OHP buddy and he said that he thinks is more of a holster issue but who knows.

I've carried my P320 for over a year now, appendix carry, with a round chambered.

I've not had any issues while in the holster or at the range, I consider it a nice shooting pistol. I have no real preference between striker or hammer fired guns, maybe not enough experience to get a good opinion? I don't know, I've shot a combination of several thousand rounds out of both types.

I will say during one trip to the range I tried to make it fire on it's own. Loaded with a full mag and banging the butt on a table as well as banging on the side of the slide. I believe my finger was on the side of the trigger as well but don't recall. (Alone and directed down range). I do know I had no misfires.

I don't try to quick draw or train pulling the gun out of the holster quickly.

Never been a fan of any striker fired Sig. I think the west German made P220, P226, P228 and P229 are awesome weapons, but not the 320.

Having never seen the 320, I am not qualified to comment on it but I fully agree with part that I bolded.

I don't think so. There are too many instances of it happening to holstered pistols from officers in different departments. I doubt they're all using the same holster.

There's something wrong in the design or maybe the assembly of this gun. I don't know what that might be, but it's definitely a gun problem.

That is disappointing, I hope the officers’ recover fully. I don’t know what to think about the P320 discharges. Anecdotally, I’ve owned, EDC’d an M18 (using the manual frame mounted safety) for several years without incident. Also a full sized, slick side M17, competing in several local matches and training classes with no unplanned discharges. Working from OWB kydex holsters. Single anecdotal stories don’t mean much, I know. Other than catching the holstered pistol on a narrow chair armrest, as I sat down, I haven’t banged it around, hitting car doors, steering wheels or dropping it, chamber loaded. No rough treatment. I have changed EDC to a S&W M&P 2.0 9MM, when I found how well the factory textured grip, and circumference fit my hand. The Smiths’ frame mounted safety is very familiar to an old 1911 shooter.

That's why I'm a M&P fanboy. I can size the grips to my hand, and they have the same angle as a 1911.
