Does anybody have any experience with the SDS 1911s made in Turkey? I have the itch for a new 1911 and was planning on getting a Ruger but then I saw these on Armslist and they seem to have really good reviews. And the price seems too good to be true.

I can understand being able to get a good price fire arm out of turkey just for the simple fact that they have lousy wages and are probably on a pay scale less than Mexico. If the pay is still as lousy is in the mid-80s a soldier over there was only making around 50 bucks a month. So a 400 $500 gun out of turkey would be about the equivalent of a $1500 $2000 gun here in the US or at least that’s the logic I’m using. I’m just wondering if it is decent quality. I know the stuff coming out of the Philippines like the RIA are bottom of the barrel. But these are along the same price range

They have stainless steel and blued pistols in there in the mid $400s range. They even have a G.I. model that comes in under $400.

Anyways I want to know if anybody has one and what they think of it. Are they nice and tight, how did they shoot, is the trigger any good?

I’m going to post a few pictures for you guys to look at that aren’t familiar with them but they are looking really tempting. Even have a couple that look like the Colt M45s with a lower Picatinny rail. Barrel lengths of 5 inch and 4.25.

I don't have any experience with them, but I'll just say this... if they were $1500 - $2000 quality guns, they'd be charging $1500 - $2000 for them regardless of what the guy making them was paid.

But for a $400 - $500 gun, I suspect they're probably just fine. I just wouldn't compare them to a Gold Cup.

I guess I may have exaggerated the price a bit. lol. I’m just hoping to be reaffirmed by someone that has one that they are good and not junk like Rock island armory. I am really partial to Ruger firearms. If I can get a gun that’s just as good as the Ruger SR1911 and save a few hundred bucks I’ll be down for one of these Turkish 1911s.

I’ve also wanted and drooled over one of the modern style colt 1911 M45s. Thing is that is more than I’m willing to spend. Some of these look like it except for the Desert colors. And the price is sub 500 or maybe a little more

I saw those and they look really sharp. Depending where you’re looking they are under 400 or just a little over 400 for one. They look to be fun 1911A1 clones
Look fine and shot fine. Didnt have any failures to feed or extract/230 gr. Ball ammo. I did polish the feed ramp and barrel throat on both of them for them before they fired them so that may be necessary or not, but both have not had any problems with them.

I got to handle a Government size and a Commander size Tisas at my FFL the yesterday. For the price, I was impressed. It was a tad bit stiff, but it'll loosen up with some shooting. They seemed fine. +1 on @Les Carter - I'd probably polish the feed ramp and throat a little bit more if I bought one, but they seemed fine. The fit on them was not bad at all. I've definitely handled many 1911's that weren't machined as well as those were. It's probably a good bargain on those. If I bought one, I think I'd end up going with the Commander. That one was calling to me a little bit, but I left it where I found it! FFL had them at $449 for the Commander and $499 for the Government, in stock.
