We are starting to see mature buck activity more in the evening now. Younger bucks are still wandering out during daylight hours, but the older gents are moving at night. Most are out of velvet by now with one exception. Even the smaller guys are done rubbing. We have a number of large guys still hanging around and we have their current bed down areas located, but again the rut changes everything it seems.

Yessir! We have two other that look very similar to him. Must be something in the water out here!

We always thought it was silly how folks that do hunting shows "name" their bucks - until we started getting lots of potential shooters. Now, they all have names.

Forkie, slingshot, fatman, pitchfork, snagglepuss, perfect1, crescent-scar, king crown, Double-E - all odd names, but makes perfect sense for id reasons. that way the wife and I can talk about a deer and know which one we are referring to.

Not being able to keep them all straight is a good problem to have.

Good luck with keeping 264 away, he seems to follow you around quite a bit even into the middle of the desert....lol

That is one impressive buck, Aviator.
