One of these days I'm gonna see them ... You know, GC was a music minor in college (I was stunned! LOL) so I'm trying to get him to go to The Nutcracker this year ... I know he hates to dress up because he wears that uniform all day. So I just gotta figure out a way to get him to Men's Warehouse first, so I'll "like the way he looks" ... It's guaranteed! ;) Gotta get him outta those jeans and that sweatshirt! (God love him, I didn't marry him for his fashion sense!)

I just wish they made garanimals in adult sizes.

I went on Thursday night. Sat pretty close to the front. I thought it was OK but not fantastic. It seemed like I enjoyed the black guy talking more than the music.

Me, too ... I wish he would sing ... He has the sexiest voice! :)

I was just imagining it to be Morgan Freeman the entire time and thats why i though he was better. Plus the singers seemed like D-bags.

If you want to know the roots of TSO. Look up the band Savatage.
The creator/leader/main writer of which is Paul O Neil. If you have seen past shows, then saw this years show, then you might be a little taken aback. Paul had this latest version written but neither of TSO's troupes- the east and the west- had ever performed it until this year. My wife is a non metalhead but lives with a pro metal musician and while she hates any of my bands music she loves all of TSOs stuff- CDs, DVDs, shows. She really liked this years show that she saw with her sister because even though we've seen both east and west coast troupes perform in Tulsa and California, I liked the shows better when Alex Skolnik was in the troupe, although I have never minded Al Pitrelli's playing at all.

I guess it's all a personal preference thing. My wife and I like a couple of their songs, but we felt the first 2 hours of the concert were painful and just awful to sit through. If we weren't with friends we would have left. We saw other couples get up and walk out.

I think it would have been 100x better without the narration/poem thing they tried to do. That for me was the train wreck. Our friends seemed to enjoy it though.

People seem to love or hate TSO. I guess we are in the latter group. :(

You are not alone, we were in the get up and walk out group. Tickets were free that time, wouldn't go again even if they were free.
