I have always heard the term truck guns. So it got me to think. In the state of Oklahoma can I carry an AR15, or AK, or shotgun loaded in my truck? What are the laws?

mods. Sorry not sure if this was in the rifles section or here.

Does not have to be hidden as far as I know. Nothing in the statute states it has to be in a case of any kind. Agreed with above - chamber empty, mag/tube loaded.

Currently I just keep a Springfield .45 in the door and an 8-shot .357 in the console. But at times I have kept a shotgun or AR for a few days at a time. Just don't like leaving it out and viewable, even though my window tint is DARK. Leaving it covered with stuff is an option, but I like to try to keep my truck clean-looking and uncluttered if possible.

I have thought about looking into mounting some kind of gun vault on the interior roof (Tahoe) to keep an AR or shotty in and have it secured. Haven't ever gotten around to it, though.

Concealed Handgun License?

CCP = Concealed Carry Permit
CWL = Concealed Weapons License (this is what mine says on it)

Not sure what the new official terminology is on the cards in OK.... just a Weapons Permit?

I have seen those, as long as you dont have the top center piece with dome lights in it those work pretty good it seems. Mounts up tight against the roof.

I was thinking about starting to carry my 12ga pump on my back window on a gun rack if just making short trips where it wouldn't be parked out in a lot out of view.
