I started with an RCBS rock crusher single stage press most companies out there sell a starter kit that has the bassics in it but will still need add ons like calipers etc... Single stages are a great place to start and get your basics set then if your like most of us you'll end up buying a progressive later but don't start on a progressive. There are a lot of YouTube videos that will give you a basic idea of the process. Good sites for reloading supplies include midwayusa, Natchez, brownells and cabelas, handloads.com has some good data and forums plus you can get plenty of help from us Okies too

your question: does the rcbs stuff fit on the hornaday press and will lee gear fit on the others press and can they all be cross matched.

Most dies have the same thread..there are old ones and oddballs but majority of dies have the same 7/8x14 thread
And shell holders interchange as well.

This is the kit that a fellow reloader that had been doing it for nearly 30 years bought and sent to me to get started reloading and i still use it to this day have seen no need in getting anything else but have added many acessories to the kit over time but still use the same press.

But everyones needs are different so u urself will have to decide on what will work for u as to the amount of ammo u are wanting to load whether a single stage or progressive press is what u need.
Got it at bass pro 130 otd so about the same with shipping a few more things I think I can start almost there having fun shopping

I am just starting to look also. My question is, if you're loading, say 100 rounds, do you set up the single stage, size 100 cases, change dies, load 100 primers, charge 100 cases, change dies, then seat 100 bullets, or do you change for each operation for each case? If you do only change dies when changing operations, is there much point to getting a turret press instead of a single stage?
