My question is, if you're loading, say 100 rounds, do you set up the single stage, size 100 cases, change dies, load 100 primers, charge 100 cases, change dies, then seat 100 bullets,....
.............is there much point to getting a turret press instead of a single stage?

Yes and yes

I use a loading block when using a single stage press, it lets me charge all the cases at once and using a bright light, I can examine the powder level in each one before putting a bullet on top to make sure I haven't made a visible error.

RCBS Rock Chucker Press

using RCBS or Hornady dies

Don't overlook the pawn shops when searching for equipment. My Rock Chucker is 35 yo and has loaded thousands of rounds without a problem.
