TULSA - Tulsa police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday in the parking lot of the Las Americas grocery store near I-244 and N. Lewis Ave.

Officers say a man phoned police saying he was afraid for his life as a woman, who he said had a gun in her waistband, was threatening him.

When the initial two police officers arrived, a Tulsa Police spokesman says the suspect was sitting in her car and refused to get out. At some point, the officers fired at the car and the woman was hit multiple times. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The details behind what sparked the officers to use deadly force are unclear.

The two police officers are being interviewed by detectives. Police also say there were at least two witnesses to the incident.

So far, no names have been released.

Seriously. More bad things will happen to you as opposed to good when you're on the city streets at 1:30 in the morning. Just a guess, but what are the odds alcohol was involved in this shooting incident? Hmmmmmmmm......1:30 in the AM in North Tulsa? I wonder........
