Swiss K-31. Bought one in very good condition, numbers matching, for $275. I figured it'd just be a cool shooter to have. By far, the most accurate iron sighted weapon I have ever shot in my life. Coupled with the GP11 ammo, even the elevation adjustment on the sight is DEAD ON. I'd never sell 'er.

We were goofing off and and my brother was shooting his .270 at a sand berm a looooong way off. He was aiming a ridiculous amount above it to hit it. We ranged it out to around 800 yards. I pulled out the K-31, clicked the sight up to 8 (not in yards, but meters was close enough). First shot, had time to look up, and saw a puff of sand. Granted, we were shooting at the berm in general, not a small target, but it hit it every time we tried.

This is going to sound kinda silly, but I've gotten more than I expected out of my last two big purchases. The silliness comes from the fact that both of these items are top quality and I had high expectations for both but both have exceeded what I hoped for.

The first is my 10.5" noveske upper. One knows going in that pretty much anything Noveske is going to be pretty nice but this thing is simply off the chain. Every single time I get it out to shoot it's nothing short of perfection! I was a little nervous about spending so much on an upper but after spending some time with it, I find that it's worth every penny.

The second is going to have to be my Benelli M1 super 90. Again it is reasonable to expect a lot from a weapon like this and I was a little nervous about spending lots of cash on a shotgun. Since this purchase I haven't been to the range without the Benelli! I love that gun and it's previous owner seems to have some separation anxiety too. He still gets visitation with Nelli. lol...

those Italian shottys are slick aren't they. I have owned a beretta 1200fp and a 1201fp, Finest and fastest shooters I have owned. Sold both, and seriously regret it. Got my eye on another 1200fp, I like the higher capacity. lol that benelli is a bad mofo!

Episode #2:

A few weeks ago, I bought a rifle from a lady whose husband was away in the military. I gave her several hundred dollar bills, but she owed me $10 bucks in change.

Well, all she had was a $10 dollar roll of quarters from one of the casinos, I guess. I told her, that would be fine; it all spends the same. I took the roll of quarters.

On the drive home, I decided to stop at one of the casinos along the way. After all, I had a roll of quarters, right? Well, I cycled that roll of quarters thru a slot machine. When I quit, I was $495 ahead. Net.... which was more than I had paid for the rifle an hour earlier.

The rifle itself? Well, it's looking pretty good, so far. But the way I see it, it was free! I would never have gone into the casino if I had not been given that roll of quarters.

Cap'n Bill

YOU MAKE ME SICK , AND THEN TO GLOAT ABOUT IT ??? HAVE YOU NO MORALS ???

J/K It's good to know someone has a little luck. Probably means your living right. If your not already you should definitely be playing the lotto......
