I have a friend with an 03-A3 that is set up to for the Pedersen device and I was told that it was worth around $15,000.00 ,but that was many years ago.
That wouldn’t be an 03-A3. That would be a 1903 Springfield Mark 1. Value would be 14k for the Pedersen device & 1K for the ‘03

By “setup” for the pedersen device, do you mean he has the device, or the rifle is ready to fit the device if it’s available?
Because any mark 1 is setup for the pedersen device if it’s correct. Mine is all correct with the pedersen parts-except the actual device-which is very rare

I was sorting through some family properties today. I found a unissed 1903A3 still in the wrap and covered in comsoline. Should I leave it wrapped or open in up and clean it up? What do you think the value of something like this may be if I ever sell it?

No idea of the current value, but if I were a betting man, I'd be inclined to bet that it's unissued from a post-arsenal inspection/ refurbishment. Is there a tag on the wrap showing the arsenal, rifle manufacturer, and serial number?

The easiest way to tell would be to check the stock for cartouches that are indicative of a rebuild. You'll often see untouched rifles with aresenal rebuild stamps, so not all rifles with arsenal stamps were refurbished. I'm sure that there were plenty of unissued 03-A3's that were simply inspected, stamped, and wrapped for long term storage.

I'd just leave the rifle as-is if selling. It will probably command the highest value in-wrap.

I'd love to see photos of the rifle if you want to post them or send them to me in a pm.
