My carrier never brings stuff that weighs much over 10#. i get the note to go pick it up. It is annoying that the PO opens after I'm at work and closes before I get off.

If you're home, they are supposed to attempt delivery to the door. If that happens again, pm me, I can get that fixed. You can also call and request redelivery.

Will do, thanks man.

If the packages are light enough they leave them on the porch. If they are heavier I don't think they even put them in the car at the PO.

My only other complaint is that our brick mailbox holder thing doesn't have a flag on the side and if we don't get mail the carrier doesn't check it for outgoing. I guess we need a flag, but we just stopped putting outgoing in the box.

They're supposed to. And yep, you need a flag if you have outgoing mail.

My only complaints with USPS are when we have a sub-deliverer. Our regular guy is awesome, prompt by 9:00 in the morning. He also carried, for I don't know how far, a package with a 12# cannonball my buddy sent me.

The subs all seem to suck though. I understand that it's not their normal route, but one dude literally drives and stops the truck to each house-on both sides of the same street. I don't know how long it takes him vs how long it would take him to walk, but I do know our mail is usually 2-3 hours later at a minimum when he does it.

I also got (unjustifiably) peeved last winter when we had the snow. I spent 30mins cleaning off the sidewalk that runs to the curb so the postman wouldn't have to walk through ankle deep snow in the grass, then I had a trail diagonally across my lawn through the perfect layer of pretty snow lol.

I figured. That's why we haul it into town or I'll drop in in the outgoing at work. I like to use the USPS to mail packages because normally they fit in the flat rate boxes and that is a pretty good value for what I do.

I used to do equipment recertification and we shipped UPS every day. I've normally had good luck with UPS and USPS aside from the occasional disgruntled employee, but that is going to happen anywhere.

Goodness ... I love my mailman ... he is always friendly even though he calls me the Magazine Lady (as in periodicals guys!!). Even pets my dog when she is laying out front in the sun. Really nice guy!!
