For production you have a box and a weight limit to deal with.

There are a few companies making base pads that extend a small amount. Some add a round or two and others are just extended. TTI, Ben Stoeger, and Springer Precision all market varieties of these pads for all popular production guns (Glock, M&P, XD, CZ, and Tanfoglio). You have to make sure you don't go over weight though, you get plus 2 oz. from the posted weight of the gun with an empty mag inserted. Then there's the box, a lot of extended mags, like a Glock mag with a Dawson extension or a factory Glock 18 mag won't fit in the box and therefore aren't allowed.

Will it fit in the box? I'm not real familiar with HK's. The box dimensions are in the rule book, you can measure the gun and get a pretty darn good idea if you're legal or not. Alternatively you can load em' up and shoot limited as long as the mags fit the limited gauge.
