I heard it first said by Micheal Savage, long before OSA... i'm not sure he coined the phrase though.

I don't know about the specific phrase "wake up sheeple," but the first time I recall reading the word "sheeple" was in relation to Honda-driving sheeple in the early '90s. IIRC, it goes back to a line by Calvera in The Magnificent Seven: "If God had not wanted them sheared, He would not have made them sheep."
"Sheeple" is way over used on OSA. I guess some people think it makes them look cool, hip, tough, suave and debonair when they say it....................
"Sheeple" is used about as much as the "all my guns were lost in a boating accident" comment.
